Classes and Workshops

Classes and workshops can be tailored to all levels of ability and musical/cultural understanding. I have equipment to cater for groups of up to 120 with drums & percussion, smaller groups with balafons, bolons & gongos.

Prices vary depending on location, duration, numbers etc... Dance classes & workshops can either be arranged separately or a drum/dance session booked. A more cultural ‘show & tell’ style workshop can also be provided, with traditional African artefacts like cooking equipment, reed brushes and so on. Also on offer is storytelling or a more 'theatre' based approach to music using stories.

Typically charges are £150 for a local workshop of up to 2 hours in either drumming or dance, the same for workshops further afield, plus travel expenses. Rates for day workshops incorporating both drum & dance or general ‘African music' sessions can be negotiated. Charges are around £40 per hour, £150 for a half day and £250 per day.

Performance

Performances or talks using a variety of West African instruments. Participatory performance or drum/dance workshops for childrens' or adults' parties can also be catered for.
